1. GOD
God is holy and good. He created the world. It was good and it flourished. The pinnacle of his creation was man. We were created in God's image, which endowed us with unique dignity and ability. We were designed to walk in union with God.
(Genesis 1:27, Genesis 1:31)
2. REBELLION
Man rebelled against God. We wanted to be our own god. We severed our relationship with him through sin. Because God is just, he must punish sin. Therefore, we brought death and his wrath upon ourselves.
(Romans 1:18; Romans 5:12)
3. ATONEMENT
God loves. Therefore he sent Jesus, his Son, as a propitiation- a sacrifice to satisfy his justice through absorbing his wrath against man. This renews those who believe and reconciles them to God.
(Romans 3:24-26; Romans 5:8)
4. CONFESSION
We are called to respond in belief and repentance. In belief, we trust in Jesus and believe that his work as a sacrifice is applied for us. In repentance, we grieve over our sin and take action to remove it from our lives.
(Mark 1:15; Romans 10:9)
5. ETERNAL LIFE
Those who believe will resurrect from the dead to dwell with God forever on a renewed earth. There, sin, death, and sorrow are swallowed up by Jesus' victory. We will be clothed in righteousness and will worship God forever as his children.
(Revelation 21:3-5)
