Normandale’s Children’s Ministry, nbc kidz, is the place where kids learn that the Bible is all one big story, pointing us to God’s Son, Jesus - the plan to rescue us from our sin from the very beginning.

Our mission is to partner with your family in raising your kids with a biblical worldview, enabling them to faithfully follow their Creator as fully participating members of His church.

Each week we produce a Family Worship Guide, filled with activities for families to reinforce each week's lesson at home. Our elementary students also leave each Wednesday night with an activity page, designed by us to continue the conversation at home.

Additionally, Mr Jared reviews books and other media for families - check these out here.

We celebrate parents, guardians & families as they accept the responsibilities, laid out in Deuteronomy 6, to point their children to Jesus as Savior and Lord, sharing their faith with their kids as the primary disciplers. Church members commit to pray for, and support, these families.

Every spring and fall we run a class designed to equip parents as they study salvation, baptism, the Lord's Supper, church and spending time with God - alongside their kids! This class is perfect for kids who have questions about becoming a Christian, or recently made a profession of faith and desire to be baptized.

We run activities from birth through 6th grade at 9:30am on Sundays, while extending activities for birth through 3rd grade students during our worship gathering at 10:45am - during which some of our 4th through 6th graders take on a junior leadership role. All kids learn the same lesson, differentiated to suit their needs using LifeWay's Gospel Project curriculum.

We also run midweek activities for birth through 6th grade on a Wednesday evening at 6:30pm where our preschoolers continue reviewing Sunday's learning while our elementary students tackle "Big Picture Question & Answers" - a curriculum written by Mr Jared using LifeWay's Big Picture Questions & Answers.

Here are a few highlights on our kidmin calendar:

VBS is one of the biggest dates on our church calendar - it provides an amazing opportunity for our kids to invite their neighbors and friends to hear the Good News about Jesus! Over 130 volunteers pull together to make VBS a safe and fun environment for kids to be challenged in their faith.

    Join us, June 23-27, 2019!

Kid's camp is an amazing week where our 3rd through 6th graders get the opportunity to pull away from distractions and focus on Jesus. With quiet times, small group discussions, large group teaching and worship - this week is always one of the most fun and most impactful each and every year.

    Join us, June 6-10, 2019!

Each October we have our Fort Worth mission trip - a week full of different outreach opportunities in our community. We gather together as a church on the Sunday and instead of staying in our building, go out! Activities continue throughout the week ranging from giving cookies to fire departments, writing note cards to people, visiting families in our community, helping with a school fall festival, teaching Bible stories to refugee kids, and so much more. All of our activities are designed for our kids to get involved with too!

We firmly believe that children are just as important to the church as adults, and while we love providing programs during worship services for kids birth-3rd grade, several times a year we have all-age family worship. One of those is our "Kids Takeover Sunday", where kids lead us in service through greeting, handing out bulletins, praying, singing, passing the offering plates and more. Why? Because these kids can do it! If they have accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior then they are filled with the same spirit you and I are!

Fragrance-Free Environment

As of November 2018, the Children’s Center is a “fragrance-free environment”.

A fragrance-free environment helps create a safe and healthy place for kids to learn about Jesus. Fragrances from personal care products (perfume, cologne & scented oils), air fresheners, candles and cleaning products have been associated with adversely affecting a person’s health including, but not limited to, headaches, upper respiratory symptoms, shortness of breath, and difficulty with concentration. As such, products not considered to be “fragrance-free” should not be worn/used in the Children’s Center.
